A new BBQ restaurant, Smoke and Oak, recently opened at Okanagan Fall’s Winery Wild Goose Vineyards this summer and its something that has got everyone’s mouth-watering!
We recently visited the winery and learned more about the new restaurant. The Southern BBQ food infuses the owners heritage and adds a German twist into the dishes. They smoke ribs, chicken and hen in their smoker out back (which was imported from Tennessee), and use pieces of staves (vineyard cuttings) and wine barrel to add flavour to the foods.

Here is a sample of the menu at Smoke and Oak, which also showcases the family’s German background. You will love their secret recipe BBQ sauce, which is handmade using Okanagan fruit picked in their gardens and infused with Wild Goose wines.
Soup of the day | a daily creation made with fresh local ingredients
Spaetzle | a Kruger family recipe served with baked beans and chef’s select salad
Salads | choose from a German potato salad, seasonal greens or chef’s select salad
Smoke and Oak Share Platter | fresh local breads, smoked beef brisket, pulled pork, local
Rib Platter | smoked pork ribs grilled with their wine infused apple butter BBQ sauce, served with spaetzle
Half Hen Platter | roasted whole and frilled with their wine infused apple butter BBQ sauce served with spaetzle and baked beans

Next time you’re in Okanagan Falls and craving delicious, authentic BBQ, be sure to stop by Wild Goose! Reservations are highly recommended. Open daily 11am-4pm.
