Last night we sipped our way through the exquisite Crystal Ballroom at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver, tasting the best of BC Wine, craft beer, premium ciders and delicious bites. Taste BC featured wineries from all over the province including Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan, that lined the entire ballroom, pouring premium BC wines.
Just like every tasting, we always try to freshen up our palates and tend to find sparkling wine to kick off the evening. Yesterday was no different, and we ended up finding bubbles from both Elephant Island (Pink Elephant 2012 made from granny smith apples with cassis dosage) and Blue Mountain (traditional Gold Label Brut blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay).
But for us, we have 3 standouts that you must try and find at a local private liquor store and try.
- TH Wines Riesling 2014
- Ex Nihilo Privata Chardonnay 2014 *only available at the wine shop in Lake Country
- CC Jentsch Cellars Syrah 2013 * Decanter Gold at DAWA 2015
The best part about Taste BC is that all proceeds go directly to BC Children’s Hospital’s Oak Tree Clinic, helping to make a difference in the lives of BC Children. Thanks to Liberty Merchant Company for hosting this great event!
