Amazing critical reviews on the 2014 Nota Bene

“Exhibits plush aromas of chocolate, black raspberry and wild currents, vanilla…lifted with a breath of mint to add brightness juxtaposed with leather and pipe tobacco to keep it in all in check. The palate is all that and more; supple weight, generous fruit, structure and balance. It is a substantial yet chic red, aptly woven and integrated, boasting a lengthy mocha finish.”

“The wine begins with aromas of red and black currants, along with vanilla and spice. The palate delivers a rush of red berry flavours, including black cherry; all framed by notes of dark chocolate and black coffee. The structure is firm and age-worthy. This is an elegant wine built to peak in a decade and hold for several years after that.”
John Schreiner, John Schreiner on Wine
An intense and ripe wine from the warm 2014 vintage. …. not at all jammy, this vintage shows black cherry, blueberry, dried plum, Christmas cake, a subtle violet note, dark chocolate and some nice toasty vanillin oak that will integrate beautifully into the wine. The palate is….full bodied with firm ripe tannins and balancing refreshing acidity. More blueberry and black cherry along with blackberry, pepper and a savoury dried sage note form an intensely flavoured palate and the finish is long with everything nicely integrated.”
