YVR Tasting Spots

Great spots in Vancouver to unwind with a glass (or bottle) of wine:

Vancouver Urban Winery Food and Wine Pairing

The Vancouver Urban Winery | A beautiful winery right outside our city in Railtown. Once you walk through the tall, wooden doors, you immediately escape to wine country. Here, you can enjoy a unique selection of tasting flights and food pairings. All of their wine is served from over 36 rotating wine taps.

My pick- “The Goods” wine flight, which serves BC wines like Naramata’s Laughing Stock Vineyards or Oliver’s Le Vieux Pin.

Salt Tasting Room | The ultimate wine tasting experience in the heart of Gastown. Choose from a chalkboard of cheeses, meats and condiments and pair your tasting plate with wine.

JOEY Wine Room | Located off Burrard Street, JOEY Bentall One features a long bar with tons of wine on tap.

Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar | One of the largest BC wine lists in the city, offering tons of options by glass or bottle. Be sure to try the BC wine flights- the best way to try wines and see what you like. The Whites include Thornhaven Gewurztraminer, Stoneboat Pinot Gris and Lake Breeze Pinot Blanc. The Reds include Tinhorn Creek Cabernet Franc, Pentage Pentage and Burrowing Owl Syrah.

UVA Wine Bar | Vancouver

Giovane Cafe+Wine Bar | Even though there is no BC wine on the menu, G’s is a very cool spot to grab a quick bite and glass of italian vino in the heart of Vancouver, located at the Fairmont Pacific Rim.

Tap and Barrel | A must visit in the Olympic Village. If you are in Vancouver in the summer, be sure to check out their massive patio overlooking False Creek, with a glass at Okanagan Valley Blasted Church Hatsfields Field, of course.

Edible Canada | This bistro is located in the heart of Granville Island, and features BC wine on tap including Naramata’s Nichol Vineyards and Okanagan Crush Pad.

YEW Restaurant and Bar | Come ready to try some fresh fish with a glass of delicious, crisp wine. With a selection of 14 by the glass wines (wine on tap) including BC’s Tantalus Reisling and Paint Rock Syrah, you’ll find the perfect glass to pair with your dish.
